INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILISATION

Introduction
Unlike Gua Sha, IASTM is used to assist manual therapists to quickly scan for tissue dysfunctions.This course will teach participants how to use the tool to scan for adhesions/ scar tissues and then proceed to breaking them down by body parts. Participants will also learn how to integrate it for pain reduction and in helping with rehabilitation processes along with increasing of ROM.
 
Course description
 
This course will teach participants about our IASTM and its application on clients/ patients. Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization or Simply IASTM is a new range of tool which enables clinicians to efficiently locate and treat individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction. IASTM is performed with ergonomically designed instruments that detect and treat fascial restrictions, encourage rapid localization and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis, chronic inflammation, or degeneration. With any Manual therapy treatment ,supplementation with exercises and additional modalities e.g. joint mobilization designed to correct biomechanical deficiencies by addressing musculoskeletal strength and muscle imbalances throughout the entire kinetic chain should be used in conjunction with IASTM. If you do any type of soft tissue work in your practice or interested in adding a new tool to it, then this IASTM clinic is for you.

This course is specifically designed for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of IASTM and how to integrate them into your current practice or repertoire of skills. To help clinicians/participants learn how to assess a someone to get the most out of your treatment to using advance IASTM methods to correct MS dysfunction and conditions. Graduation requirements
Be able to understand apply the correct application of the tool.
 
Note: To graduate, the above requirements must be met. Participants will be practicing/ exposing body parts such as thighs, hamstrings, chest, glutes, ribs etc. You will be advised to wear and use the appropriate attire to allow conducive learning and lab experience. Sport shorts and sport tops for both males and females will be assumed during the clinic.
