Dry Needling

Course Description:
 
This is a certification which serves a 4 whopping days of clinical knowledge. Here we will look into History taking, Anatomical, Theoretical, Practical hands-on and clinical aspects of Dry Needling, in addition to safety precautions and guidelines. 
Each muscle covered is reviewed in regards with origin, insertion, neuromuscular, vascular components and safety guidelines. Safety and efficacy of treatment both are focused. We recommend participants in the course to be familiar with anatomy and muscle function, although we will provide an update on anatomy and palpation skills.
 
Course Objectives:
 
Understand the specific indications and contra indications of dry needling.
Know and be able to apply the safety rules of DN.
Know possible side effects and complications of DN and will be able to react appropriately.
Have updated their anatomy skills and Knowledge.
 
Course aims:
 
Understand basic scientific backgrounds of myofascial trigger points.Able to identify the trunk, spine, pelvis, hip, thigh, neck, upper and lower extremity, head, TMJ, hand and foot, shoulder muscles by surface anatomy palpation and by function and know their clinical symptoms and perpetuating factors.
Able to identify feature of trigger points by physical examination and Apply this knowledge to the trunk, spine, pelvis, hip, thigh, neck, upper and lower extremity, head, TMJ, hand and foot, and shoulder Muscles.
 
Course Outcome:
 
Participants will be able to have strong clinical reasoning to using Dry Needling in conjunction of treatments available to practitioners. Provide safe and effective treatment of muscular dysfunction(s) using DN.
 
What is covered:
 
Basic Level
 
Day 1:-
 
  • Introduction and history of Dry Needling – Theoretical aspect.
  • How,Why,What of Dry Needling.
  • Safety measures in DN.
  • Muscle and fascial structure and function (Tensegrity).
  • Superficial and Deep Dry Needling.
  • Detailed introduction of Myofascial Trigger points.
  • First hands on experience with Dry Needling Area covered.
  • Detailed Structural and functional anatomy of muscles and techniques of Dry Needling with safety measures in area:-
  • Muscle of hip region.
  • Muscle of Thigh.
  • Muscle of leg.
  • Clinical relevance of the area Needled.
  • Arteries of lower extremity and Palpation of pulses.
 
Day 2:-
 
  • Second day, All the participants would be more confident in holding and inserting the Needles.
  • Myofascial Trigger Point Syndrome Introduction.
  • Detailed Structural and functional anatomy of muscles and techniques of Dry Needling with safety measures in area:-
  • Muscles of Shoulder girdle.
  • Muscles of Upper extremity.
  • Clinical relevance of the area Needled.
  • Arteries of upper extremity and Palpation of pulses.
 
Advance Level
 
Day 3:-
 
  • Detailed Structural and functional anatomy of muscles and techniques of Dry Needling with safety measures in area:-
    • Neck Muscles.
    • Trunk Muscles.
    • Clinical relevance of the area Needled.
    • Arteries of Neck and Palpation of pulses.
 
Day 4:-
 
  • Detailed  Structural and functional anatomy of muscles and techniques of Dry Needling with safety measures in area.
    • Head Muscles.
    • Muscles of TMJ.
    • Muscles of Hand.
    • Muscles of Foot.
    • Clinical relevance of the area Needled.
    • Arteries of Head and Palpation of pulses.
